Anna Karenina (I) (2012)
Set in late-19th-century Russia high-society, the aristocrat Anna
Karenina enters into a life-changing affair with the affluent Count
Vronsky.
The Buzz: Leo Tolstoy's flawless novel in the hands of
playwright Tom Stoppard gives us hope for this reunion of Joe Wright and
Keira Knightley; her work in Pride & Prejudice and Atonement
has convinced me that she is at her best on his sets. But perhaps you,
like me, are more focused on Kelly Macdonald, the Boardwalk Empire star
who here will play Dolly, Anna's sister-in-law who upsets the family
dynamic with the discovery of her husband's infidelity as the novel
opens.
